As part of our science topic we have been learning about animals including humans. Today we looked at why exercise is important. As part of this we looked at what happens to our bodies before and after we exercise, to test how what happens we felt our hearts beating before we took part in two of our favourite GoNoodle videos. After our GoNoodle dances we noticed that our hearts were beating quickly, we were hot and our breath was shorter.
What a great day we’ve had! We have spent the day celebrating Our Lady. We thought about why Mary is special, the colour of the clothes we see her wearing and the Miracle of the Sun.
The Miracle of the Sun happened on October 13, 1917 at Fatima when Our Lady appeared to 3 young shepherd children- Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta. The miracle of the sun was witnessed by around 35,000 people! The sun was described as having an “exceedingly swift and whirling movement”, and as “the most magnificent fire wheel that could be imagined, taking on all the colors of the rainbow and sending forth multicolored flashes of light, producing the most astounding effect” – to quote a few.
So we crafted some Miracle of the Sun Spinners! We had a great time making our spinners and had great fun trying out our spinners.
